I almost didn’t buy this (焙じ茶) Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Kit Kat because I’ve had the green tea matcha Kit Kat before. Luckily I bought it hoping it would be different.
What is Hojicha?
Hojicha (焙じ茶) is roasted green tea. This is what makes it different from regular green tea and matcha. The flavor is more robust and nutty.
I found this at a 7-Eleven in Osaka, Japan.
This cost me $150YEN = about $1.39USD.
This brings 3 snack size packets.
I could smell the green tea immediately when I opened a pack. If you like matcha then you’ll love this kit kat! It tastes exactly like matcha but stronger, with a nutty hint similar to honey roasted nuts.
I fell in love with this flavor. It’s like a more decadent version of matcha. It was so good, I thought it was better than matcha. ∑d(°∀°d)
I wish I had bought more.

Would I buy the (焙じ茶) Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Kit Kat again? YES.
I really wish I bought more because I ate this pretty fast. I was intrigued and wanted to taste actual (焙じ茶) Hojicha but unfortunately it’s not a tea that’s easily available. I would have to look it up online. If you have the chance to try this Kit Kat, don’t miss out and buy it!
