Whether you call it the Sakura Sake Kit Kat or the Cherry Blossom Sake Kit Kat, this is a treat you don’t want to miss.
What better Kit Kat flavor to try from Japan! It has 2 of the symbols Japan is well known for. I was very excited to try the Sakura Sake Kit Kat; even the box looked too pretty not to buy.
You can learn more about Japanese Kit Kat on their website!
I was in Osaka, Japan when I bought this.
I got it at a 7-Eleven.
This cost me $150 YEN = about $1.39USD.
This small box brought 3 snack sized packets.
You can also find this flavor in giant packs or 12 piece boxes.
I was very happy when I opened one of the Kit Kats and the smell of sake was strong. (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ I wasn’t sure how to react. Part of me hoped it had a high alcohol content and another part of me wondered if it would taste too much like alcohol. It wasn’t my first time having chocolate with alcohol so I knew how easy it is to mess up the flavor by adding too much.
This was perfect. I loved it! ♡( ◡‿◡) The sakura added a soft floral flavor similar to roses. The crème chocolate gave the candy a creamy taste and texture. The sake flavor was strong enough that I knew alcohol was mixed into the crème.
If sake isn’t something you like, this might not be as enjoyable. I had a friend look at me confused when I gave it to them without telling them that there was alcohol in it. They thought it was only liquor in the kit kat.

Would I buy the Sakura Sake Kit Kat again? Yes.
I really enjoyed the Sakura Sake Kit Kat and I wished I had bought their bigger bags because I only got to taste it once since I shared my other packets with friends. I wasn’t expecting to share a lot of the Kit Kats I bought or that people might like them a lot so it was a little surprising to run out of a certain flavors that I bought like this one.
I’ll have to plan accordingly next time I return to Japan.
