Over the past 2 years, Krispy Kreme has dished out some new creative doughnuts. The latest are these super cute Krispy Kreme Dessert Minis!

Location
I had to try every one of the Krispy Kreme Dessert Minis so I went to their website and checked for their availability at a store near me.
It was so easy to find a location. You can find locations in Canada listed on their website as well!

Size
While these aren’t the smallest doughnuts I’ve seen, these are still the smallest decorated doughnuts I’ve seen at Krispy Kreme. They’re about half the size of a regular doughnut.

Krispy Kreme Dessert Minis Assortment
The “desserts” are created on top of a mini version of the original Krispy Kreme glazed donut. You can buy them for 2 for $2.

Strawberry Cheesecake
This Dessert Mini was delicious. I really enjoyed its sweetness and the crumbly texture over the icing. The concept is very neat.
However, there were things I thought could be better. The doughnut needed more of a cheesecake flavor. There was a gelatin-like texture to the center cream and the “strawberry” syrup. The icing was more crumbly than I expected and the “strawberry” syrup was so strong it tasted more like cherry. It kind of reminded me of cough syrup. The center cream tasted like regular vanilla pudding to me.

Birthday Cake
This was my favorite out of all of the Dessert Minis and not just because of the sprinkles. The center cream is actually frosting; it was soft, buttery and sweet. On the icing, the doughnut had sprinkles and what felt like cookie crumbs. I suppose the crumbs are supposed to be birthday cake bits.
With the center frosting, I could really taste the common birthday cake flavor everyone’s familiar with, but without it, the donut just tastes like a regular, super sweet doughnut.

Lemon Bar
This Dessert Mini was yummy. It was mostly sweet with a very mild hint of sourness.
To me, I wish there was a stronger lemon flavor. A lemon bar is very citrusy and this dessert didn’t pack the punch I was expecting. My main complaint would be the lemon glaze being sticky and gelatin like. I didn’t expected to stick to my fingers and mouth as I ate.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
I had a mix reaction to this Dessert Mini. It was very sweet but the dark chocolate chip added a delectable bitterness that I enjoyed.
My only criticism is that the cream around the doughnut reminded me more of toffee than cookie dough. It was a delicious doughnut, but if I had done a blind taste test, I don’t think I would’ve said it was chocolate chip cookie dough flavor.
Would I buy this again? Maybe.
Honestly, these are super cute and cheap. Seeing the mini original Krispy Kreme glazed donuts, made me think of fun doughnut décor activities. Even if they’re not perfect, they look so good, people would love to have them. After all people eat with their eyes first.
I’m looking forward to new Krispy Kreme Dessert Minis creations!
