I wasn’t planning on trying these popcorn flavored M&Ms but my mother had them laying around and I decided “why not”. ┐(︶▽︶)┌
I tried the Candy Corn M&Ms years ago; they were honestly one of my favorite new M&Ms flavors. When I saw these I was very skeptical because it clearly says it’s artificially flavored but since the candy corn flavored M&Ms were good, I decided to try these.

Sadly I was disappointed. (」°ロ°)」 Creating an artificial popcorn flavored snack would be very difficult. I think going with a crispy rice center vs some kind of flavored chocolate or cream inside is what made it fail for me. I just didn’t get that buttery popcorn flavor I look for in popcorn flavored things. The smell of popcorn is very strong so I was excited when I opened the pack but the chocolate really takes over the whole snack. I get this very distinct flavor like burnt popcorn or burned cornels. It’s not quite popcorn but also not completely off.
If I were to describe the taste as an moment, I’d say it tasted a lot like getting the cornel flakes stuck between your teeth when you eat popcorn. It’s that bittersweet feeling of, “I really like eating popcorn” and “oh no, I have a cornel flake stuck somewhere I can’t reach”. ლ(¯ロ¯”ლ)

Have you tried the popcorn flavored M&Ms?
I haven’t tried many M&Ms flavors because I can never find them in small regular packs anymore. Everything in the US comes in large portions and a large bag of M&Ms isn’t something I’m interested in. I think these popcorn flavored M&Ms were a nice attempt but I think I would’ve preferred like a buttery crème or caramel in the center instead of the crisp rice.
