Review: New Cheerios Strawberry Banana Valentine’s Day Limited Edition Cereal!

Last Updated on 2022/04/09

I was very excited for the new Cheerios Strawberry Banana cereal!

The moment I saw them on the shelves, I grabbed one.

There’s something about Cheerios that makes them a great cereal for different flavors. While I don’t always like all of their new flavors, more often than not, the taste is still good compared to other cereals failed attempts.

Heart-Healthy Foods

Cheerios is known for their healthy heart slogan, “can help lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet”. They further explain on their website:

Cheerios has soluble fiber from whole grain oats, which can help lower cholesterol *as part of a heart-healthy diet. Three grams of soluble fiber daily from whole grain oat foods in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Cheerios Original provides 1.5 grams per serving and specially marked Cheerios varieties provide .75 grams per serving.

Strawberry Banana Cheerios cereal brings you the great taste of fresh cut juicy strawberries and perfectly ripe bananas. And because every one of these tasty O’s is made with 100% whole grain oats, it’s cereal you will love with all your heart.

~Description from the Cheerios cereal box.

The fragrance when I opened the bag was very noticeable!

I was surprised by the taste. It had hints of both strawberry and banana. I was surprised because I was somewhat expecting a more artifitual taste than natural due to the strong fragrance upon opening the bag. I devoured my box pretty quickly; I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed it until I was half way through the box.

The flavor lingers for a decent length of time after the cereal has soaked in the milk for a few minutes. After a while, the flavor does fade. The leftover milk doesn’t capture a lot of the flavor. There’s a small hint of it but unless you’ve had several bowls, the taste of the cereal won’t blend into the milk.

The heart shapes and pink cereal adds to the Valentine’s Day ambience. It also works well with Cheerios known image as a heart healthy cereal.

I got these at Meijer but I also found them at Woodman’s Market and Target.

Would I buy Cheerios Strawberry Banana Cereal again?

Answer: Yes.

Worth Trying?: More than once.

I loved these so much that I returned to Woodman’s Market hoping to catch that special price and discovered the cereal was out of stock. When I returned a week later, the cereal was over $4USD. I decided not to buy it but a month later I luckily found it at Target for $3.79USD.

I was happy to enjoy another box of this cereal!
