The Little Debbie Sparkling Strawberry Unicorn Cakes make a comeback this year!

I remember eating these back in 2020 but never wrote a review for them.

I’m not sure when, but I remember Little Debbie having strawberry flavored cakes called Strawberry Cupcakes. They had the popular hexagonal shape the Little Debbie Zebra Cakes have. They also had the Be My Valentine heart shaped strawberry cakes for Valentine’s Day in past years, and more recently, they also did the Mother’s Day strawberry cakes.

In short, the only unique thing about these Unicorn Cakes are all the food dyes put into the ingredients to make them look more colorful, the smaller sizes and the higher price compared to their older versions.

Product Details

Sparkling, tasty and unique, what’s better than this Little Debbie® treat? A scrumptious fan favorite, Unicorn Cakes are a delicious surprise that’s perfect for any occasion! Pink strawberry-flavored cake is layered with a fun lavender-colored vanilla creme. Then each cake is coated in white frosting, drizzled with a light blue stripe and generously topped with a dusting of purple candy glitter. Plus, this yummy snack is baked into a finger cake shape and individually wrapped so little fingers can enjoy easier. These cakes are perfect for a unicorn-themed birthday party, a Saturday afternoon snack or popping in a lunchbox for a midday surprise. You and your family will love enjoying these snack cakes!

These tasted exactly how I expected them to taste.

Initially, the colorful cakes made me feel excited; I loved how the purple vanilla cream looked against the pink strawberry cake, and the blue drizzle and purple sugar looked on the white creme. After a while the “magic” kind of went away because it’s literally just strawberry cake with vanilla cream in the middle.

I think I would’ve kept my excitement if it was a new fun flavor or perhaps if they used real strawberries instead of artificial flavor.

I got these at Woodman’s Market.

Would I buy the Little Debbie Sparkling Strawberry Unicorn Cakes again?

Answer: Maybe.

Worth Trying?: At least once.

This is the third time I’ve bought a box and it will probably be my last. The cakes are good but compared to just buying or making strawberry cake at home, these can get costly, and like I said, the “magic” kind of wore off. They make a good occasional snack or to decorate another snack like a milkshake but I wouldn’t buy these frequently.
