Review: New Milk Chocolate Reese’s Snack Cake!

Review: New Milk Chocolate Reese’s Snack Cake!

Last Updated on 2022/03/26

I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some shrimp and spot the new Reese’s Snack Cake!

I tell people I don’t like peanut butter but I actually consider myself picky. I could hate peanut butter on bread but say I love peanut butter cookies. Then if you buy me peanut butter cookies, I’ll tell you I don’t like them but I’ll still eat certain brand peanut butter cookies. I may hate a peanut butter chocolate milkshake but I’ll fall in love with the ice cream.

I’m a living enigma! (・_・;) ?? I don’t understand it enough to explain it but it makes sense enough to me when I say, “I don’t like peanut butter but I love THIS peanut butter cake but NOT THAT peanut butter cake”.

Product Details

Yep, you read that right. REESE’S in the morning. Forever, in the form of a delicious soft baked chocolate cake topped with REESE’s Peanut Butter creme covered in smooth milk chocolate. REESE’S Snack Cakes – consider morning officially saved.

There seems to be a mix of reactions to this Reese’s Snack Cake. As I checked out, the cashier told me she didn’t like these at all. I still bought a pack because mini Reese’s cakes sounded delicious to me. Some reviews online said they couldn’t taste the peanut butter, which would be odd for any Reese’s product.

I really enjoyed these cakes! ☆ ~(‘▽^人) I thought they were delicious. In all honesty the product itself isn’t impressive. It tastes like a Reese’s cup. The reason I like it is because of the texture. The chocolate cake is more like a brownie; it’s thick, decadent and not at all like regular fluffy cake. The chocolate is more semi-sweet in flavor. It’s really more like a candy bar than a snack cake; it’s like eating a regular chocolate bar but Reese’s flavored.

As for the taste overall, I’m not sure about the people who claim they couldn’t taste the peanut butter or chocolate cake for that matter. I could taste every individual part of the cake: the milk chocolate, the peanut butter and the chocolate cake. Initially I could taste the milk chocolate but as I chewed I could taste the peanut butter. Towards the end, you get a strong, almost like dark chocolate bittersweet taste from the chocolate cake.

I got these at Metro Market.

Would I buy the Reese’s Snack Cake again?

Answer: Yes.

Worth Trying?: At least once.

I would love to buy these snack cakes a few more times. Two things stop me from doing so however:

  1. I mean 380 calories? They’re so small! 62% added sugar? Yikes!
  2. They’re really more like candy bars than snack bars or mini cakes

It may sound like I’m exaggerating but compared to other actual snack cakes like Hostess or Little Debbie, it’s quite a bit. There are many other options of snacks I could have that would be far more filling and less unhealthy, like an actual slice of peanut butter and chocolate cake.

Something to think about.
